67 CE: The Jewish intriguer John of Giscala accuses Josephus of betraying his country to the Romans and of misappropriating booty stolen from the Roman overseer Ptolemy. Incited by John, the mob attempts to set fire to Josephus's house. Josephus, covered in dirt and his clothing ripped, defends his actions.
