Dust bowl farmer driving tractor with young son, near Cland, New Mexico. "I left cotton growing east of Wichita Falls to come out here to get to grow wheat. (The superior status of wheat over cotton farmers is traditional.) But I"ve seen only one year since I came here in 1920 that I didn't make something"
