Râs el Abyad (White Cape), the ladder of Tyre. From the south side. The rock-cut undulating road. with its shallow steps, is in many places nearly two hundred feet above the sea.

The gate of Tyre (Sûr). There are two springs of fresh water on the peninsula, one of which is close to this gate. It has been conjectured that they are connected with the foundations of Râs el 'Ain.
