Giorgio Gallesio, 1772 - 1839, war ein italienischer Botaniker und Forscher, der sich auf Zitrusfrüchte spezialisierte. Sein berühmtes Buch Traité du citrus wurde erstmals 1811 gedruckt. Er untersuchte die Barrieren, die die Artenkompatibilität beeinflussen und gab einen guten Überblick über die Geschichte und Verbreitung von Zitrusfrüchten.
