5 BCE: Pheroras, before being poisoned, has entrusted his wife with poison to kill his brother, King Herod, or so Herod has heard. Pheroras's wife throws herself from the roof but survives. Here, Herod tells Pheroras's wife that she will not be punished if she tells the truth about the poison.
